Yes, we are back to running at full capacity for summer 2022!
What do camp COVID-19 protocols look like?
We do not yet know what Summer 2022 protocols will look like as we ease our way back towards normal operations. we are awaiting the most up to date guidance from the State of Oregon and the American Camp Association before setting policies.
IN THE MEANTIME HERE ARE THE POLICIES FROM SUMMER 2021 THAT MAY STAY IN PLACE:
SCREENING- OUR CAMPERS, STAFF, AND GUESTS ARE ALL SCREENED FOR SYMPTOMS BEFORE ENTRY TO THE CAMP ENVIRONMENT AND THEN RE-SCREENED EACH SUBSEQUENT DAY.
TESTING- ALL UN-VACCINATED CAMPERS NEED TO HAVE A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST RESULT WITHIN 72 HOURS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT CAMP.
SANITATION- WE HAVE GREATLY INCREASED OUR ALREADY AGGRESSIVE SANITATION SCHEDULE AND HAND-WASHING ENFORCEMENT. WE HAVE ADJUSTED OUR CLEANING POLICIES BASED ON ADVISEMENT CREATED BY THE AMERICAN CAMP ASSOCIATION AND THEIR CONTRACTOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & ENGINEERING, INC.
FACE MASKS- NOW THAT OREGON’s MASK MANDATE HAS EXPIRED WE TREAT FACE MASKS AS A PERSONAL CHOICE. WE ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO HAVE UNVACCINATED CAMPERS WEAR MASKS INDOORS.
Will campers be required to wear a mask?
In March, Oregon has again dropped the State Mask Mandate. As long as their is no mask mandate we will not be requiring masks. (fingers crossed this is the last time the mandate returns)
There are a few exceptions to this rule as masks are still required is Medical Facilities (including our nurse’s office).
Will campers be required to take a COVID-19 test?
Last summer, we required all un-vaccinated campers to have a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours prior to arrival at camp. It is possible that this requirement may still be in place this summer.
Will campers be required to be vaccinated?
Vaccination is strongly recommended before camp for all eligible age groups, but is not required at this time. As State and ACA guidance are published we reserve the right to change this rule, but will give as much advance notice as possible if we do.
How will Covid-19 affect my camper’s experience?
While camp was slightly different in 2021, most campers were unaffected by the differences after check-in. We anticipate that COVID will intrude even less into the camp experience in 2022. We work hard to keep the majority of COVID related changes "back of house" so our campers are free to have an incredible experience with minimized COVID related limitations.
What happens if a camper gets Covid-19?
All camps are already mandated to have a Communicable Disease Isolation Plan to handle airborne diseases like the Measles, these plans work very well with COVID-19. We reviewed our existing plan and it exceeds the standard that is recommended by the State of Oregon.
Parents of youth campers should also be aware that if we need to quarantine or isolate a camper beyond the end of their session we will be charging parents a daily rate to cover associated costs. We will pass along to cost of hotel, staff, and food directly without a markup so the price will be variable but we anticipate it to be around $300/day.
What happens if my session has to be cancelled due to Covid-19?
We were able to run all of our scheduled programs in 2021 and anticipate 2022 to be no different. However, if the camp is forced to cancel a session that your camper is already registered for, we will be offering a refund or a camp credit of whatever amount has been paid so far to use in the future. The credit will be good for up to 2 years in the future and can be used towards any of our products and programs. If the session must be canceled by the camper our standard cancelation policy applies.
